Steel deck supports for constructing totally non-combustible elevated decks where strict fire regulations are in force.
With fire safety regulations becoming increasingly strict, particularly in dense urban and wildland/urban interface zones, polypropylene paver supports are no longer a viable option in many locations. Often, they’re not permitted even with fire-retardant compounds included in the polymer.
Archatrak’s Incendio steel pedestals offer exceptional fire resistance without compromising on cost, making them a practical and reliable alternative to plastic paver supports for elevated deck projects requiring totally non-combustible materials.
Archatrak Incendio pedestals comply fully with the highest fire safety standards including meeting all criteria specified under ASTM E136.

Installation Guide
Installation guides for building elevated decks with porcelain, wood or concrete pavers laid over Archatrak adjustable deck pedestal supports can be seen at the page link below together with a short video illustrating the various stages of installation.
The installation procedure with Incendio rooftop steel pedestals is similar, with the notable exception that the base of the steel pedestals cannot be cut to bring the pedestals closer to any perimeter wall or parapet.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions about Incendio non-combustible pedestals and pedestal paver installations.
Traditional plastic pedestals, even those with fire-retardant additives claiming to be non-flammable supports, are inherently combustible and may not be in full compliance with fire regulations for elevated decks.
In contrast, Incendio fire-rated pedestals are made entirely of steel, rendering them non-combustible and in full compliance with fire regulations and rigorous local fire codes. This non-combustible nature makes them ideal for applications where fire safety is a paramount concern, such as rooftop decks in urban areas with stringent building codes.
When installing Incendio steel deck supports, it’s important to note that, unlike plastic pedestals, the steel base cannot be trimmed to fit closer to perimeter walls or parapets. Therefore, precise planning is essential to ensure proper placement. As with any adjustable height pedestals, setting them as level as possible before finalizing the installation will help achieve a level and stable decking surface.
Although the 4” x 4” totally flat steel base distributes the load evenly over roofing membranes, an optional 9″ x 9″ buffer pad can be supplied for placement under the base of the steel deck supports if required.
