As part of a major renovation recently completed at First Hill Plaza in Seattle, approximately 5,000 sq. ft. of Archatrak Cappuccino Travertine porcelain pavers were used to create a cohesive outdoor environment extending from the building entrance into the landscaped courtyard. The pavers transition between on-grade and elevated installations while maintaining a consistent appearance throughout the space, connecting pergolas, lounge areas, outdoor kitchens and the adjacent tennis courts.
Curving pathways and a raised circular gathering area are defining elements of the courtyard design, requiring the porcelain pavers to be expertly cut to follow the sweeping contours while maintaining clean, precise edges. The warm travertine look complements the landscaping and provides the refined natural-stone aesthetic appropriate for a luxury residential property. With low water absorption, excellent durability and minimal maintenance requirements, porcelain is also particularly well suited to Seattle’s wet climate, providing an attractive paving surface designed for year-round exposure.
