The timeless character of natural stone cobblestones, reimagined with the performance and practicality of porcelain – distinctively textured, antiqued edges, precisely dimensioned, lightweight, easy to lay.
Archatrak cobblestone pavers capture the authentic charm of quarried stone, featuring richly textured surfaces, subtly antiqued edges, and natural stone-inspired colours. Available in 8″ × 8″ and 8″ × 12″ formats at just ¾″ thick, they deliver the classic cobblestone aesthetic in a lightweight, easy-to-handle format.
While they look like traditional stone, the advantages go far beyond appearance. Unlike natural cobbles – with their irregular shapes and dimensional inconsistencies – Archatrak porcelain cobblestones are precision-manufactured for exact sizing and uniformity. The result? Faster installation, tighter joint control, and the ability to create crisp geometric layouts and intricate paving patterns that would be difficult, time-consuming, or costly to achieve with natural stone.
You can enjoy the heritage appeal of old-world cobblestone, but with the strength, consistency, and simplicity of modern porcelain.

Cobblestones vs ‘Belgian Blocks’. What’s the difference?
“Cobblestones” is often used as a catch-all term for stone driveway paving, but in many cases, what people are actually referring to are Belgian Blocks. While they share a similar heritage look, there are some important differences.
Cobblestones
Traditional cobblestones are typically irregular in shape and range from 4″ to 8″ in size. Usually quarried from granite, basalt, or limestone, they’re set in sand or mortar to create an interlocking, old-world surface full of rustic charm and character.
Because of their small size and uneven shape and height, true cobbles are labor-intensive and demanding to install. They require skill and time to achieve a consistent finish. You may also hear the term “setts” used—these are generally more square or rectangular, while cobbles tend to be more rounded and irregular.
Belgian Blocks
Belgian Blocks are larger—typically 10″ to 12″ or more in length—and rectangular in shape with straighter, cleaner edges. The result is a more structured, refined cobblestone aesthetic that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary designs.
Historically quarried from granite or basalt, Belgian Blocks are now also produced in porcelain, as exemplified by Archatrak porcelain cobblestone pavers, offering precision dimensions with more design flexibility. They’re commonly installed in grid patterns and can be set in sand, mortar, or cement depending on the application.
