Non-Combustible Rooftop Decks
As fire regulations concerning elevated decks on rooftops become more severe, in some municipalities, not only must the deck surface material be non-combustible, but also the supporting structure. The combination of porcelain pavers supported by steel pedestals complies fully with such regulations.
For the deck surface, our porcelain pavers are rated A1 under Standard EN13501-1 for fire resistance and meet the Class A Spread of Flame requirements when tested in accordance with ASTM Test Method E108-11, “Standard Method of Fire Tests of Roof Coverings”.
For the support structure, where plastic pedestals will generally fail to meet the requirements for total non-combustibility, our ‘Incendio’ adjustable height steel pedestals completely overcome this issue and can be used to create non-combustible decks with elevations from 1” to 19”.
For the lowest height applications, our RPS-FR stackable steel paver supports can provide support starting as low as 1/8” elevation.
MB-FR Adjustable Height Paver Supports
Our Euro Class A1 fire
rated ‘Incendio’ range of steel paver supports cover the range 1”to 19” with seven pedestal models offering continuous height adjustment by means of a screwed column.
The pedestal head is typically a thin polypropylene component to provide some sound deadening but a steel cross piece can be provided if required. Electrophoretic coating provides long term durability in exterior conditions.
RPS-FR Low-Height Paver Supports
For the lowest height range from 1/8” to approx. 1”, our RPS-FR A1 fire rated fixed height paver supports can be stacked to build up the height in 1/8” increments.
The 6 ½” square zinc-nickel electroplated mild steel supports have a rated compressive strength of more than 2200lb.
