Safe & Secure Commercial Roof Decks
Archatrak porcelain pavers offer exceptional durability, wear resistance and slip resistance for commercial use. However, because they are lighter and thinner than concrete pavers, we offer a range of solutions to ensure the utmost public safety with any pedestal supported roof deck.
In locations subject to high wind gusts, our wind uplift systems are designed to hold the pavers tightly in an interconnected array, minimizing the risk of wind uplift of individual pavers.
For rooftop bars, restaurants and pool deck areas, our protection systems for porcelain pavers minimize the risk where damage to pavers may occur due to impact by heavy objects.
In snowy winter conditions, our ‘Heatizon’ electric snow melt system efficiently prevents ice formation and snow accumulation on pedestal supported porcelain pavers.
In New York locations where fire regulations prevent construction of wood roof decks, Archatrak porcelain pavers used in conjunction with ‘Incendio’ steel pedestals provide a totally non-combustible roof deck solution.

What are the main advantages of using Archatrak porcelain pavers for outdoor spaces c.f. other paving materials?
Porcelain pavers offer numerous benefits for outdoor applications. They are highly durable, resistant to stains, scratches, and frost, making them suitable for various climates. Additionally, their low water absorption rate ensures minimal maintenance. Available in a wide range of designs and textures, Archatrak porcelain pavers can simulate the look of natural stone, wood, or concrete, but offer better long term performance and lower maintenance.
How do Archatrak porcelain pavers compare to traditional concrete pavers in terms of durability and maintenance?
Compared to traditional concrete pavers, porcelain pavers require less maintenance to keep them looking at their best. Porcelain’s non-porous nature makes it not only highly resistant to staining from oils or grease, but also resistant to penetration of water, preventing issues like cracking or efflorescence common in concrete pavers. Furthermore, porcelain pavers retain their color and finish over time without the need for sealing, offering long-term aesthetic appeal with minimal upkeep.
Can Archatrak porcelain pavers be installed over existing surfaces, and what are the recommended installation methods?
Yes, our porcelain pavers can be installed over existing surfaces, provided the substrate is stable and level. For on-grade applications, they can be dry-laid on grass, gravel, or sand, or for elevated decks and terraces they can be laid with adjustable height pedestals or stackable rubber pads for low height applications. They can also be bonded to a concrete slab with mortar where vehicles are present. Always follow Archatrak installation guidelines and consult with professionals to determine the best method for your specific project ensuring that you fully comply with all local building codes.
