With almost three times the breaking strength of 2cm porcelain pavers, but just 1/2″ thicker, Archatrak T30 (30mm) porcelain pavers offer an unmatched alternative to concrete or brick paving in high traffic, commercial environments, including public plazas, pedestrian walkways, shopping precincts, pavements, sidewalks, driveways, and other broad area landscape paver projects.

These heavy-duty commercial pavers feature the same stain resistance, wear resistance, fade resistance, slip resistance, frost resistance and aesthetic appeal as 2cm porcelain pavers, but offer much superior resistance to breakage.

Superior Strength and Impact Resistance

For pedestal supported elevated rooftop decks in high traffic commercial spaces such as rooftop bars and restaurants, roof terraces, patios, and other communal areas where maximum safety and resistance to break-through is paramount, 3cm thick pavers are generally our preferred recommendation, especially if the extra cost of steel protection plates for T20 pavers may be an issue. Cost Effective Wind Uplift Solution for Pedestal Supported Roof Decks

In roof deck applications where wind uplift mitigation must be considered, not only is the extra weight of T30 3cm porcelain pavers an advantage, but the extra thickness enables a strong hold-down system to be employed. This system secures the pavers to ‘Incendio’ steel pedestals by means of stainless steel hold down washers inserted in small kerfs cut in the corners of the pavers. The steel pedestals ensure a much superior hold down strength than plastic pedestals and additionally ensure that the complete pedestal paver system is totally non-combustible.

High Aesthetic Appeal Paving for Pedestrian Walkways & Plazas

With a broad range of fade free colors and styles, a highly scratch, scuff and stain resistant surface combined with excellent durability and strength, 3cm porcelain pavers provide the opportunity to create pedestrian walkways and other outdoor public spaces with low maintenance pavers with much superior aesthetic appeal in comparison with other materials. The plaza surrounding the famous Cloud Gate (“The Bean”) in Millennium Park, Chicago, which receives around 25 million visitors a year, is a good example of the superior low maintenance, durability and strength properties of 3cm porcelain pavers. Existing concrete pavers were replaced in 2024 with Archatrak 3cm ‘Moov Grey’ 24” x 24” pavers laid over a FRP grid and supported by Archatrak “Prime” pedestal supports.

As well as large 24” x 24” and 16” x 32” slab pavers, a select range of colors in 6” x 12” size are available in our 3cm porcelain paver range produced with inbuilt lugs on the sides to facilitate quick installation with precise spacing.

Safe for Driveways and Vehicular Traffic

For on-grade applications, including areas with vehicular traffic, 3cm porcelain pavers are capable of supporting wheel loadings of over six tons, so can be used on driveways, parking lots, pads and other areas with light to medium traffic, either mortar set or laid over a well-compacted sand/gravel foundation.

What is the best base for porcelain pavers?

Since 3cm thick porcelain pavers have almost three times the breaking strength of 2cm porcelain pavers, they can be sand/gravel set for most applications. For areas with regular vehicular traffic we would normally recommend using the 6” x 12” size pavers with lugs on the sides which provide consistent gapping of the pavers.

Can porcelain pavers be installed over concrete?

Porcelain pavers can certainly be laid over concrete. For resurfacing patios and suchlike in residential applications, we would normally recommend using 2cm pavers supported by fixed heigh rubber pads rather than 3cm outdoor pavers, since the extra cost of 3cm porcelain pavers would not normally be justified for this application.

A limited color range of T30 3cm porcelain pavers are available with inbuilt lugs on the sides to simplify laying, ensure accurate spacing and allow storm water to pass through. These 3cm outdoor pavers are designed to be laid on a porous open-graded aggregate base material to facilitate drainage into the subsoil.

Four colors are currently available in our range of 3cm porcelain pavers with inbuilt lugs – Basalto, Porfido, Scori Grey Blue and Lavica Sand – all 6″ x 12″

If it is established that any of our heavy-duty 3cm pavers has a manufacturing defect resulting from it not being manufactured in accordance with the said standards, we will replace the defective paver(s) free of charge with paver(s) of compatible color and shade as determined by us.
