Deck Support Pads – Fixed Height
Stackable rubber support pads for easy patio resurfacing and low height rooftop flooring.
Stackable rubber support pads provide the most convenient and lowest cost means to lay porcelain pavers over existing concrete surfaces such as patios without using adhesives or grout. ‘Floating’ decks with pavers supported only by rubber fixed deck supports are much more cost effective than more conventional mortar set and grouted tile installations with the added benefit of guaranteeing a perfectly level deck surface.
On rooftop and balcony floor installations, they offer the best and most cost-effective option for laying porcelain or concrete pavers at the lowest elevations before adjustable height pedestals can be employed (normally around 1”-1 ½”).
Benefits of Archatrak Rubber Support Pads

Primary Applications for Fixed Height Rubber Support Pads
Stable paver system for resurfacing concrete patios
Porcelain pavers plus fixed height pads can be an easy DIY solution for covering drab, weather worn or cracked concrete patios since there’s no mess, no mortar, no grouting. Another of the benefits of rubber support pads is that the inbuilt spacer tabs on Archatrak rubber fixed deck supports essentially take all the worry out of ensuring precise and consistent spacing between pavers.
Lowest height support for roof deck or balcony deck installations
Since screw adjustable paver support pedestals can’t offer useful adjustment capability below about 1”, stackable fixed height pads can best fulfil this need. They are especially useful at door thresholds where pavers need to be raised just enough to ensure good drainage under the pavers but not so much that they could create a tripping hazard
Sound absorbing spacers between porcelain pavers and FRP grating
Where pedestal supported FRP grating panels are used as breakthrough protection for porcelain pavers on roof decks, Archatrak’s ¼” high rubber support pads placed at each corner of the pavers prevent sound transmission and compensate for any slight variation in the FRP surface which might otherwise result in slight rocking.
How to Install Fixed Height Pads
Patio Resurfacing
First, make sure the surface is clean. If there is significant cracking of the concrete resulting in height differential on each side of the cracks, be aware that such cracks can develop further which could require rubber support pads or shims to be added or removed to level the pavers again.
To ensure a stable paver system where the pavers cannot move, you should always install metal landscaping edging around the perimeter of the patio, held in place with spikes.
Making sure not to lay any pads over cracks, lay the fixed-height paver pads over the concrete slab in the approx. finished position, spaced according to the dimensions of the pavers being used. Lay the pavers over the pads, making sure to butt the pavers tightly against the inbuilt spacer tabs.
If you want to make the patio perfectly level, stack the rubber support pads as necessary using a spirit level, starting at the lowest point on the patio.

FAQs
How do fixed-height paver pads compare to adjustable pedestals?
Fixed-height paver pads are specifically designed for supporting pavers up to an elevation of 1” – 1 ½”, beyond which, adjustable height pedestals can be used. At very low deck heights, the screwed columns of adjustable pedestals do not have sufficient height range to make them cost effective to use. Conversely it is not cost effective to stack fixed height paver pads beyond about 1 ½”.
Can rubber support pads be used in outdoor environments with extreme weather conditions?
Yes, these rubber outdoor flooring pads are designed to withstand various environmental conditions. Their all-rubber construction ensures durability against moisture, temperature fluctuations, and UV exposure. This resilience makes them suitable for outdoor applications, including areas with harsh weather.
Can rubber support pads be used over any hard surface?
Generally speaking, fixed-height paver pads can be laid over concrete slabs, concrete pavers, clay pavers, flagstones, and stone slabs, provided the underlying surface is solid, will not move and the pads are not placed over the gaps between any slabs or other paving materials.
